Your car’s in need of some love to look its best. Stands to reason that the best mobile valeting service is the one that turns up, and will do so soon. But what of quality, and what about pricing?

How they wash
The two-bucket method exists for a reason. One bucket holds soapy water. The other holds rinse water. The mitt goes into the soap, touches the panel, then gets rinsed in the second bucket before going back into the soap. Dirt stays in the rinse bucket instead of being dragged across the paint on the next pass.
Anyone using a single bucket is recycling grit across every panel. Ask before they start.
Snow foam matters too. It goes on before contact and loosens surface dirt so the mitt doesn’t have to do all the work. Without it, the first pass of the wash is doing the most damage because it’s dragging the most contamination.
What chemicals they use
Glass cleaner with ammonia in it will do the job today and damage rubber seals over time. It also degrades window tint. Ammonia-free formulas cost more and do the same work without the trade-off.
Tar removers should be solvent-based and applied panel by panel. If someone is washing tar off with the same soapy water they used on the roof, it isn’t coming off. It’s being smeared.
Fallout removers react with iron particles from brake dust. You can see this happening because the product turns purple on contact. If your valeter isn’t using one on the wheels, baked-on brake dust is staying put.
What they do with the interior
Vacuuming alone won’t reach what has soaked into seat fabric over weeks of use; think of the stickiness and absolute grime that a dry extraction does nothing for.
Wet extraction shampooing is what you want. It puts cleaning solution into the fibres under pressure and draws it back out.
Dashboard wipes spread plasticiser film around rather than removing it. A proper clean followed by a protectant leaves the surface sealed rather than tacky.
What protection they leave behind
Ceramic foam bonds to paint and causes water to bead for up to four weeks. A hydrophobic finish extends that to around three months. Neither replaces regular cleaning, but both reduce how much sticks between visits.
What to check before booking
Look at the booking system. A proper platform with set prices, service descriptions, and time estimates tells you the operation is structured. Vague quotes over text messages leave room for surprises.
Reviews help, but read what people say rather than counting stars. Someone mentioning that their door shuts were cleaned or their engine bay was degreased tells you more than a five-star rating with no words attached.
